Laura Hosto, LCPC

Psychotherapist

Welcome!

Thanks for visiting my website. My name is Laura Hosto and I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. I have been providing counseling to individuals, couples, and groups since 1997.

Personal Mission and Philosophy

I believe that within each of us lies the capacity to change. We can learn skills to communicate better, rediscover parts of ourselves, and find new ways of thinking. We can consider gentler ways of looking at ourselves, and more ‘enlightened’ ways of understanding others. Feeling better and thinking more clearly, we can spring board into new ways of behaving - ways that make us feel better still about ourselves.

I see myself as a facilitator of the kind of self-discovery and positive behavior change that my clients value. And while sometimes the therapeutic process can have its moments, I believe that the process predominantly is, and should be uplifting for the mind, body, and spirit. That is why counseling is so deeply worthwhile: if we like who we are, how we behave, and feel more connected to others, we naturally experience a life of greater joy and contentment.

Below are a few photographs of our office, located in a secure quiet building on a residential street in the Chicago neighborhood of Andersonville.
