About Myself:

I have been a licensed counselor since 1998 and a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor since 2002, with practical experience beginning in 1997. My Illinois License number is 180-004539. I have been a member of the American Counseling Association since 2000.

I graduated from Northern Illinois University with a Masters of Education in Counseling (M.Ed) in 1998. I graduated summa cum laude. During graduate school I worked at both a Community Mental Health agency and a Domestic Violence Agency. I then worked in a not-for-profit setting as a staff psychotherapist and behavioral health research counselor. I have been in private practice since 2003. I have also had the privilege to being an adjunct faculty at both Loyola University and DePaul University.

I have 15 years experience as an educator. I deliver stand-up trainings on topics within the health and wellness field for social service agencies, higher education institutions, and corporate clients.

Thanks to in-depth experience in domestic violence prevention and treatment, I have presented lectures on this topic. I was the keynote speaker at “Out in America,” the Columbus 2005 LGBT Domestic Violence Conference.
